29 Cut off your hair, and throw it away,
take up a lament on the bare hills,
for Adonai has rejected and abandoned
the generation that rouses his anger.’
30 “For the people of Y’hudah have done what is evil from my perspective,” says Adonai; “they have set up their detestable things in the house which bears my name, to defile it. 31 They have built the high places of Tofet in the Ben-Hinnom Valley, to burn their sons and daughters in the fire, something I never ordered; in fact, such a thing never even entered my mind!

29 “‘Cut off(A) your hair and throw it away; take up a lament(B) on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned(C) this generation that is under his wrath.
The Valley of Slaughter
30 “‘The people of Judah have done evil(D) in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols(E) in the house that bears my Name and have defiled(F) it. 31 They have built the high places of Topheth(G) in the Valley of Ben Hinnom(H) to burn their sons and daughters(I) in the fire—something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.(J)
