13 Because of the wrath of Jehovah she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues. 14 Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about, all ye that bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against Jehovah. 15 Shout against her round about: she hath [a]submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Jehovah: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

13 Because of the Lord’s anger she will not be inhabited
but will be completely desolate.(A)
All who pass Babylon will be appalled;(B)
they will scoff(C) because of all her wounds.(D)
14 “Take up your positions around Babylon,
all you who draw the bow.(E)
Shoot at her! Spare no arrows,(F)
for she has sinned against the Lord.
15 Shout(G) against her on every side!
She surrenders, her towers fall,
her walls(H) are torn down.
Since this is the vengeance(I) of the Lord,
take vengeance on her;
do to her(J) as she has done to others.(K)
