Jeremiah 5:12

¹²They have spoken falsely of the Lord
and have said, “He will do nothing.
No evil will come upon us,
and we shall not see sword or famine.”^(A)

Jeremiah 5:12

New International Version

¹²They have lied^(A) about the Lord;
they said, “He will do nothing!
No harm will come to us;^(B)
we will never see sword or famine.^(C)

¹³The prophets are nothing but wind,
for the word is not in them.
Thus shall it be done to them!^(A)

¹³The prophets^(A) are but wind^(B)
and the word is not in them;
so let what they say be done to them.”

¹⁰And they shall bear their punishment—the punishment of the inquirer and the punishment of the prophet shall be the same—

¹⁰They will bear their guilt—the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him.
