Jeremiah 5:12

¹²^(A)They have lied about the Lord,
And said, ^(B)“It is not He.
^(C)Neither will ^[a]evil come upon us,
Nor shall we see sword or famine.

New International Version

¹²They have lied^(A) about the Lord;
they said, “He will do nothing!
No harm will come to us;^(B)
we will never see sword or famine.^(C)

¹²They have belied the Lord, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

¹⁰And they shall bear their iniquity; the punishment of the prophet shall be the same as the punishment of the one who inquired,

¹⁰They will bear their guilt—the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him.

¹⁰And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;
