Because you trust in your works[a] and treasures,
you will be captured also.
Chemosh(A) will go into exile
with his priests and officials.
The destroyer will move against every town;
not one town will escape.
The valley will perish,
and the plain will be annihilated,(B)
as the Lord has said.
Make Moab a salt marsh,[b](C)
for she will run away;[c]
her towns will become a desolation,
without inhabitant.
