Jeremiah 48:45-47

45 They that fled, stood under the shadow [a]of Heshbon, because of the force: for [b]the fire came out of Heshbon, and a flame from Sihon, and devoured the corner of Moab, and the top of the seditious children.
46 Woe be unto thee, O Moab: the people of [c]Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters led into captivity.
47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the [d]latter days, saith the Lord. Thus far of the judgment of Moab.

45 “In the shadow of Heshbon
the fugitives stand helpless,
for a fire has gone out from Heshbon,
a blaze from the midst of Sihon;(A)
it burns the foreheads of Moab,
the skulls(B) of the noisy boasters.
46 Woe to you, Moab!(C)
The people of Chemosh are destroyed;
your sons are taken into exile
and your daughters into captivity.
47 “Yet I will restore(D) the fortunes of Moab
in days to come,”
declares the Lord.
