41 The towns of Moab will be captured.
The strong hiding places will be defeated.
At that time Moab’s soldiers will be filled with fear,
like a woman giving birth.
42 The nation of Moab will be destroyed,
because they thought that they were more important than the Lord.”
43 This is what the Lord says:
“People of Moab, fear, deep holes, and traps[a] wait for you.

In that day the hearts of Moab’s warriors(B)
will be like the heart of a woman in labor.(C)
42 Moab will be destroyed(D) as a nation(E)
because she defied(F) the Lord.
43 Terror(G) and pit and snare(H) await you,
you people of Moab,”
declares the Lord.
