Jeremiah 48:36-38

36 Therefore my heart soundeth for Moab like pipes, and my heart soundeth like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: therefore the abundance that he hath gotten is perished. 37 For every head is bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth. 38 On all the housetops of Moab and in the streets thereof there is lamentation every where; for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein none delighteth, saith Jehovah.

36 “So my heart laments(A) for Moab like the music of a pipe;
it laments like a pipe for the people of Kir Hareseth.(B)
The wealth they acquired(C) is gone.
37 Every head is shaved(D)
and every beard(E) cut off;
every hand is slashed
and every waist is covered with sackcloth.(F)
38 On all the roofs in Moab
and in the public squares(G)
there is nothing but mourning,
for I have broken Moab
like a jar(H) that no one wants,”
declares the Lord.
