35 And I will bring to an end in Moab, says the Lord, him who offers sacrifice in the high place and burns incense to his god. 36 Therefore my heart moans for Moab like a flute, and my heart moans like a flute for the men of Kir-he′res; therefore the riches they gained have perished.
37 “For every head is shaved and every beard cut off; upon all the hands are gashes, and on the loins is sackcloth.

35 In Moab I will put an end
to those who make offerings on the high places(A)
and burn incense(B) to their gods,”
declares the Lord.
36 “So my heart laments(C) for Moab like the music of a pipe;
it laments like a pipe for the people of Kir Hareseth.(D)
The wealth they acquired(E) is gone.
37 Every head is shaved(F)
and every beard(G) cut off;
every hand is slashed
and every waist is covered with sackcloth.(H)
