35 “Moreover,” says the Lord,
“I will cause to cease in Moab
(A)The one who offers sacrifices in the [a]high places
And burns incense to his gods.
36 Therefore (B)My heart shall wail like flutes for Moab,
And like flutes My heart shall wail
For the men of Kir Heres.
Therefore (C)the riches they have acquired have perished.
37 “For (D)every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped;
On all the hands shall be cuts, and (E)on the loins sackcloth—

36 “So my heart laments(C) for Moab like the music of a pipe;
it laments like a pipe for the people of Kir Hareseth.(D)
The wealth they acquired(E) is gone.
37 Every head is shaved(F)
and every beard(G) cut off;
every hand is slashed
and every waist is covered with sackcloth.(H)
