2 About Egypt. (A)Concerning the army of Pharaoh Neco, king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates at Carchemish and which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated in (B)the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

3 (C)“Prepare buckler and shield,
    and advance for battle!
4 (D)Harness the horses;
    mount, O horsemen!
Take your stations with your helmets,
    (E)polish your spears,
    put on your armour!

2 Concerning Egypt:(A)

This is the message against the army of Pharaoh Necho(B) king of Egypt, which was defeated at Carchemish(C) on the Euphrates(D) River by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon in the fourth year of Jehoiakim(E) son of Josiah king of Judah:

3 “Prepare your shields,(F) both large and small,
    and march out for battle!
4 Harness the horses,
    mount the steeds!
Take your positions
    with helmets on!
Polish(G) your spears,
    put on your armor!(H)
