6 So my fierce anger poured out and blazed against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. And they were reduced to an utter wasteland, as they are today.
7 Now the Lord of heavenly forces, the God of Israel, proclaims: Why are you committing this huge mistake that will cost you your lives? Every man, woman, child, and infant will be eliminated from the midst of Judah, and no one will be left. 8 Why do you anger me by what you do: by burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live? You will be eliminated and become an object of cursing and disgrace among all the nations of the earth.

6 Therefore, my fierce anger was poured out;(A) it raged against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem and made them the desolate ruins(B) they are today.
7 “Now this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Why bring such great disaster(C) on yourselves by cutting off from Judah the men and women,(D) the children and infants, and so leave yourselves without a remnant?(E) 8 Why arouse my anger with what your hands have made,(F) burning incense(G) to other gods in Egypt,(H) where you have come to live?(I) You will destroy yourselves and make yourselves a curse[a] and an object of reproach(J) among all the nations on earth.

7 Therefore now thus saith the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
8 In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
