Jeremiah 44:4-6

4 Yet time and again I sent you all my servants the prophets, saying, “Don’t do these detestable things that I hate.” 5 But they wouldn’t listen or pay attention or turn from their evil ways. They continued making offerings to other gods. 6 So my fierce anger poured out and blazed against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. And they were reduced to an utter wasteland, as they are today.

4 Again and again(A) I sent my servants the prophets,(B) who said, ‘Do not do this detestable(C) thing that I hate!’ 5 But they did not listen or pay attention;(D) they did not turn from their wickedness(E) or stop burning incense(F) to other gods.(G) 6 Therefore, my fierce anger was poured out;(H) it raged against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem and made them the desolate ruins(I) they are today.
