Jeremiah 40:3-5
New Living Translation
3 just as he said he would. For these people have sinned against the Lord and disobeyed him. That is why it happened. 4 But I am going to take off your chains and let you go. If you want to come with me to Babylon, you are welcome. I will see that you are well cared for. But if you don’t want to come, you may stay here. The whole land is before you—go wherever you like. 5 If you decide to stay, then return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan. He has been appointed governor of Judah by the king of Babylon. Stay there with the people he rules. But it’s up to you; go wherever you like.”
Then Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, gave Jeremiah some food and money and let him go.

Jeremiah 40:3-5
New International Version
3 And now the Lord has brought it about; he has done just as he said he would. All this happened because you people sinned(A) against the Lord and did not obey(B) him. 4 But today I am freeing(C) you from the chains(D) on your wrists. Come with me to Babylon, if you like, and I will look after you; but if you do not want to, then don’t come. Look, the whole country lies before you; go wherever you please.”(E) 5 However, before Jeremiah turned to go,[a] Nebuzaradan added, “Go back to Gedaliah(F) son of Ahikam,(G) the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed(H) over the towns(I) of Judah, and live with him among the people, or go anywhere else you please.”(J)
Then the commander gave him provisions and a present(K) and let him go.
