(A)Circumcise yourselves to the Lord
And remove the foreskins of your heart,
Men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem,
Or else My (B)wrath will go forth like fire
And burn with (C)none to quench it,
Because of the evil of your deeds.”

Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say,
(D)Blow the trumpet in the land;
Cry aloud and say,
(E)Assemble yourselves, and let us go
Into the fortified cities.’
“Lift up a (F)standard toward Zion!
Seek refuge, do not stand still,
For I am bringing (G)evil from the north,
And great destruction.

Disaster From the North

    ‘Sound the trumpet(G) throughout the land!’
Cry aloud and say:
    ‘Gather together!
    Let us flee to the fortified cities!’(H)
Raise the signal(I) to go to Zion!
    Flee for safety without delay!
For I am bringing disaster(J) from the north,(K)
    even terrible destruction.”
