Thus says Yahweh, ‘Surely this city will be given into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it.’”

Then the officials said to the king, “Please, this man must be killed, because[a] he is making slack the hands of the soldiers[b] who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking to them words like these, for this man is not seeking for welfare[c] to this people, but only[d] for harm.” And Zedekiah the king said, “Look, he is in your hand, for the king is not able to do a thing against you.”

Then the officials(B) said to the king, “This man should be put to death.(C) He is discouraging(D) the soldiers who are left in this city, as well as all the people, by the things he is saying to them. This man is not seeking the good of these people but their ruin.”

“He is in your hands,”(E) King Zedekiah answered. “The king can do nothing(F) to oppose you.”
