21 But the Lord has shown me in a vision what will happen if you refuse to surrender. 22 In it I saw all the women left in Judah's royal palace being led out to the king of Babylonia's officers. Listen to what they were saying as they went:

‘The king's best friends misled him,
    they overruled him.
And now that his feet have sunk in the mud,
    his friends have left him.’”

23 Then I added, “All your women and children will be taken out to the Babylonians, and you yourself will not escape from them. You will be taken prisoner by the king of Babylonia, and this city will be burned to the ground.”

21 But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me: 22 All the women(A) left in the palace of the king of Judah will be brought out to the officials of the king of Babylon. Those women will say to you:

“‘They misled you and overcame you—
    those trusted friends(B) of yours.
Your feet are sunk in the mud;(C)
    your friends have deserted you.’

23 “All your wives and children(D) will be brought out to the Babylonians. You yourself will not escape(E) from their hands but will be captured(F) by the king of Babylon; and this city will[a] be burned down.”(G)
