At that time Jeremiah was free to come and go among the people. Jeremiah had not yet been put in prison. The armies of Babylon were attacking Jerusalem. They received a report that Pharaoh’s army had marched out of Egypt to help Zedekiah. So armies of Babylon pulled back from Jerusalem.

A message from the Lord came to Jeremiah.

Now Jeremiah was free to come and go among the people, for he had not yet been put in prison.(A) Pharaoh’s army had marched out of Egypt,(B) and when the Babylonians[a] who were besieging Jerusalem heard the report about them, they withdrew(C) from Jerusalem.(D)
