King Zedekiah sent Shelemiah’s son Jehucal and Maaseiah’s son Zephaniah the priest to Jeremiah the prophet, asking him, “Please pray to the Lord our God for us.” Now Jeremiah was still[b] going in and out among the people since he had not yet been put in prison.
