16 So those people put Jeremiah into a cell in a dungeon. And Jeremiah was there for a long time.
17 Then King Zedekiah sent for Jeremiah and had him brought to the palace. Zedekiah talked to Jeremiah in private. He asked Jeremiah, “Is there any message from the Lord?”
Jeremiah answered, “Yes, there is a message from the Lord. Zedekiah, you will be handed over to the king of Babylon.” 18 Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, “What crime have I done against you? What crime have I done to your officers or the people of Jerusalem? Why have you thrown me into prison?

16 Jeremiah was put into a vaulted cell in a dungeon, where he remained a long time. 17 Then King Zedekiah sent(A) for him and had him brought to the palace, where he asked(B) him privately,(C) “Is there any word from the Lord?”
“Yes,” Jeremiah replied, “you will be delivered(D) into the hands of the king of Babylon.”
18 Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, “What crime(E) have I committed against you or your attendants or this people, that you have put me in prison?
