35 They built the high places of Baal in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, though I did not command them, nor did it enter my mind that they should do this abomination, causing Judah to sin.(A)
36 Now therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, “It is being given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence”: 37 See, I am going to gather them from all the lands to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation; I will bring them back to this place, and I will settle them in safety.(B)

35 They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom(A) to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek,(B) though I never commanded—nor did it enter my mind(C)—that they should do such a detestable(D) thing and so make Judah sin.(E)
36 “You are saying about this city, ‘By the sword, famine and plague(F) it will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon’; but this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 37 I will surely gather(G) them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger(H) and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety.(I)
