22 And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, even a land that floweth with milk and honey,

23 And they came in, and possessed it, but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy Law: all that thou commandedst them to do, they have not done: therefore thou hast caused this whole plague to come upon them.

24 Behold, the [a]mounts, they are come into the city to take it, and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it by means of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence, and what thou hast spoken, is come to pass, and behold, thou seest it.

24 “See how the siege ramps(E) are built up to take the city. Because of the sword, famine and plague,(F) the city will be given into the hands of the Babylonians who are attacking it. What you said(G) has happened,(H) as you now see.
