39 And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Go′ah. 40 The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be sacred to the Lord. It shall not be uprooted or overthrown any more for ever.”

39 The measuring line(A) will stretch from there straight to the hill of Gareb and then turn to Goah. 40 The whole valley(B) where dead bodies(C) and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley(D) on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate,(E) will be holy(F) to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished.”
