Jeremiah 31:29-31

²⁹In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.^(A)

³⁰But everyone shall die for his own iniquity [only]; every man who eats sour grapes—his [own] teeth shall be set on edge.

³¹Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,^(B)

Jeremiah 31:29-31

²⁹“In those days people will no longer say,

‘The parents^(A) have eaten sour grapes,
and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’^(B)

³⁰Instead, everyone will die for their own sin;^(C) whoever eats sour grapes—their own teeth will be set on edge.

³¹“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant^(D)
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
