28 (29) “When those days come they will no longer say,

‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’
29 (30) Rather, each will die for his own sin;
every one who eats sour grapes,
his own teeth will be set on edge.

30 (31) “Here, the days are coming,” says Adonai, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Isra’el and with the house of Y’hudah.

28 Just as I watched(A) over them to uproot(B) and tear down, and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster,(C) so I will watch over them to build and to plant,”(D) declares the Lord. 29 “In those days people will no longer say,

30 Instead, everyone will die for their own sin;(G) whoever eats sour grapes—their own teeth will be set on edge.
