Warning to Zedekiah
12 I spoke to Zedekiah king of Judah(A) in the same way: “Put your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, serve him and his people, and live! 13 Why should you and your people die(B) by the sword, famine, or plague as the Lord has threatened against any nation that does not serve the king of Babylon? 14 Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are telling you, ‘You must not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying a lie to you.(C)

12 I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said, “Bow your neck under the yoke(A) of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and you will live.(B) 13 Why will you and your people die(C) by the sword, famine and plague(D) with which the Lord has threatened any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon? 14 Do not listen(E) to the words of the prophets(F) who say to you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying lies(G) to you.
