¹¹ Then the priests and the prophets ^(A)spoke to the officials and to all the people, saying, “A ^(B)judgment of death for this man! For he has prophesied ^(C)against this city as you have heard in your hearing.”

¹⁹ Then the officials said to Baruch, “Go, ^(A)hide yourself, you and Jeremiah, and do not let anyone know where you are.”

²⁵ Even though Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah ^(A)interceded with the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.

⁷ But ^(A)Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, ^[a]a ^(B)eunuch, while he was in the king’s palace, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern. Now the king was sitting in the ^(C)Gate of Benjamin;

¹³ So they pulled Jeremiah up with the ropes and brought him up from the cistern, and Jeremiah stayed in the ^(A)court of the guard.
