If you do what I say, there will always be a king on the throne in Jerusalem. The descendants of David will ride through these gates leading a great processional of chariots and horses, of advisors and subjects. But if you refuse My words of warning, I swear by My name and all that I am that this palace of yours will be laid to waste.’”

This is what the Lord says: Do what is just(A) and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor(B) the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow,(C) and do not shed innocent blood(D) in this place. For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings(E) who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people. But if you do not obey(F) these commands, declares the Lord, I swear(G) by myself that this palace will become a ruin.’”
