² You are to say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, king of Judah, you who sit on the throne of David^(A)—you, your officers, and your people who enter these gates.

³⁰ This is what the Lord says:

¹⁶ But this is what the Lord says concerning the king sitting on David’s throne^(A) and concerning all the people living in this city—that is, concerning your brothers who did not go with you into exile.

³⁰ Therefore, this is what the Lord says concerning King Jehoiakim of Judah: He will have no one to sit on David’s throne,^(A) and his corpse will be thrown out to be exposed to the heat of day and the frost of night.^(B)
