Jeremiah 2:35-37
English Standard Version Anglicised
35 you say, ‘I am innocent;
surely his anger has turned from me.’
(A)Behold, I will bring you to judgement
for (B)saying, ‘I have not sinned.’
36 (C)How much you go about,
changing your way!
You shall be (D)put to shame by Egypt
as you were put to shame by Assyria.
37 From it too you will come away
with (E)your hands on your head,
for the Lord has rejected those in whom you trust,
and you will not prosper by them.
Jeremiah 2:35-37
New International Version
35 you say, ‘I am innocent;(A)
he is not angry with me.’
But I will pass judgment(B) on you
because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’(C)
36 Why do you go about so much,
changing(D) your ways?
You will be disappointed by Egypt(E)
as you were by Assyria.
37 You will also leave that place
with your hands on your head,(F)
for the Lord has rejected those you trust;
you will not be helped(G) by them.
