15 Because my people hath forgotten me, and have burnt incense to vanity, and their prophets have caused them to stumble in their ways from the [a]ancient ways, to walk in the paths and way that is not trodden,
16 To make their land desolate, and a perpetual derision, so that everyone that passeth thereby, shall be astonished and wag his head,
17 I will scatter them with an East wind before the enemy: I will show them the back, and [b]not the face in the day of their destruction.

15 Yet my people have forgotten(A) me;
they burn incense(B) to worthless idols,(C)
which made them stumble(D) in their ways,
in the ancient paths.(E)
They made them walk in byways,
on roads not built up.(F)
16 Their land will be an object of horror(G)
and of lasting scorn;(H)
all who pass by will be appalled(I)
and will shake their heads.(J)
17 Like a wind(K) from the east,
I will scatter them before their enemies;
I will show them my back and not my face(L)
in the day of their disaster.”
