¹² When they fast, I am ^(A)not going to listen to their cry; and when they offer ^(B)burnt offering and grain offering, I am not going to accept them. Rather I am going to ^(C)make an end of them by the ^(D)sword, famine, and pestilence.”

¹⁰ I will send the ^(A)sword, the famine, and the pestilence upon them until they come to an end from being upon the land which I gave to them and their fathers.’”

¹¹ He will also come and ^(A)strike the land of Egypt; those who are meant for death will be given over to death, and those for captivity to captivity, and ^(B)those for the sword to the sword.

² One-third you shall burn in the fire at the center of the city when the ^(A)days of the siege are fulfilled. Then you shall take one-third and strike it with the sword all around ^[a]the city, and one-third you shall scatter to the wind; and I will ^(B)unsheathe a sword behind them.

¹² One-third of you will die by the ^(A)plague or be consumed by the famine among you, one-third will fall by the sword around you, and one-third I will ^(B)scatter to every wind, and I will ^(C)unsheathe a sword behind them.

⁹ Then I said, “I will not shepherd you. What is to ^(A)die, ^[a]let it die, and what is to be annihilated, ^[b]let it be annihilated; and ^[c]let those who remain consume one another’s flesh.”

^10 (A)If anyone ^[a]is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; ^(B)if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is ^(C)the perseverance and the faith of the saints.
