⁸ But you, Israel, ^(A)my servant,
    Jacob, ^(B)whom I have chosen,
    the offspring of Abraham, ^(C)my friend;
⁹ you whom I took from the ends of the earth,
    and called ^(D)from its farthest corners,
saying to you, “You are ^(E)my servant,
    ^(F)I have chosen you and not cast you off”;

⁹ not like the covenant that I made with their fathers
    on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
For they did not continue in my covenant,
    and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.
