⁸ Jerusalem staggers,
    Judah is falling;^(A)
their words^(B) and deeds^(C) are against the Lord,
    defying^(D) his glorious presence.

¹⁸ Say to the king^(E) and to the queen mother,^(F)
    “Come down from your thrones,
for your glorious crowns^(G)
    will fall from your heads.”
