⁷ Of the greatness of his government^(A) and peace^(B)
    there will be no end.^(C)
He will reign^(D) on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice^(E) and righteousness^(F)
    from that time on and forever.^(G)
The zeal^(H) of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

“The products^(A) of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,^[a]
    and those tall Sabeans^(B)—
they will come over to you^(C)
    and will be yours;
they will trudge behind you,^(D)
    coming over to you in chains.^(E)
They will bow down before you
    and plead^(F) with you, saying,
‘Surely God is with you,^(G) and there is no other;
    there is no other god.^(H)’”

¹⁵ Truly you are a God who has been hiding^(I) himself,
    the God and Savior^(J) of Israel.
¹⁶ All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced;^(K)
    they will go off into disgrace together.
¹⁷ But Israel will be saved^(L) by the Lord
    with an everlasting salvation;^(M)
you will never be put to shame or disgraced,^(N)
    to ages everlasting.

¹⁸ For this is what the Lord says—
he who created the heavens,
    he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,^(O)
    he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,^(P)
    but formed it to be inhabited^(Q)—
he says:
“I am the Lord,
    and there is no other.^(R)
19 I have not spoken in secret,^(S)
    from somewhere in a land of darkness;^(T)
I have not said to Jacob’s descendants,^(U)
    ‘Seek^(V) me in vain.’
I, the Lord, speak the truth;
    I declare what is right.^(W)

²⁰ “Gather together^(X) and come;
    assemble, you fugitives from the nations.
Ignorant^(Y) are those who carry^(Z) about idols of wood,
    who pray to gods that cannot save.^(AA)
21 Declare what is to be, present it—
    let them take counsel together.
Who foretold^(AB) this long ago,
    who declared it from the distant past?^(AC)
Was it not I, the Lord?
    And there is no God apart from me,^(AD)
a righteous God^(AE) and a Savior;^(AF)
    there is none but me.

²² “Turn^(AG) to me and be saved,^(AH)
    all you ends of the earth;^(AI)
    for I am God, and there is no other.^(AJ)
23 By myself I have sworn,^(AK)
    my mouth has uttered in all integrity^(AL)
    a word that will not be revoked:^(AM)
Before me every knee will bow;^(AN)
    by me every tongue will swear.^(AO)
24 They will say of me, ‘In the Lord alone
    are deliverance^(AP) and strength.^(AQ)’”
All who have raged against him
    will come to him and be put to shame.^(AR)
25 But all the descendants^(AS) of Israel
    will find deliverance^(AT) in the Lord
    and will make their boast in him.^(AU)

“See, I will beckon to the nations,
    I will lift up my banner^(B) to the peoples;
they will bring^(C) your sons in their arms
    and carry your daughters on their hips.^(D)
23 Kings^(E) will be your foster fathers,
    and their queens your nursing mothers.^(F)
They will bow down^(G) before you with their faces to the ground;
    they will lick the dust^(H) at your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;^(I)
    those who hope^(J) in me will not be disappointed.^(K)”

²⁴ Can plunder be taken from warriors,^(L)
    or captives be rescued from the fierce^[a]?

“Yes, captives^(M) will be taken from warriors,^(N)
    and plunder retrieved from the fierce;^(O)
I will contend with those who contend with you,^(P)
    and your children I will save.^(Q)
26 I will make your oppressors^(R) eat^(S) their own flesh;
    they will be drunk on their own blood,^(T) as with wine.
Then all mankind will know^(U)
    that I, the Lord, am your Savior,^(V)
    your Redeemer,^(W) the Mighty One of Jacob.^(X)”

⁹ Surely the islands^(A) look to me;
    in the lead are the ships of Tarshish,^[a](B)
bringing^(C) your children from afar,
    with their silver and gold,^(D)
to the honor^(E) of the Lord your God,
    the Holy One^(F) of Israel,
    for he has endowed you with splendor.^(G)
