¹⁵the elders^(A) and dignitaries^(B) are the head,
the prophets^(C) who teach lies^(D) are the tail.
¹⁶Those who guide^(E) this people mislead them,
and those who are guided are led astray.^(F)

Jeremiah 11:10-13

¹⁰They have returned to the sins of their ancestors,^(A) who refused to listen to my words.^(B) They have followed other gods^(C) to serve them.^(D) Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant^(E) I made with their ancestors. ¹¹Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I will bring on them a disaster^(F) they cannot escape.^(G) Although they cry^(H) out to me, I will not listen^(I) to them. ¹²The towns of Judah and the people of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they burn incense,^(J) but they will not help them at all when disaster^(K) strikes. ¹³You, Judah, have as many gods^(L) as you have towns;^(M) and the altars you have set up to burn incense^(N) to that shameful^(O) god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.’
