17 The Lord will bring upon you and your people and your father’s house such days as have never come since the day that Ephraim was divided from Judah. He is going to bring the king of Assyria on you. 18 In that day the Lord will call for flies that are in the farthest part of the rivers of Egypt, and for bees that are in the land of Assyria. 19 They will all come and stay in the narrow valleys, on the hill-sides, on the thorn bushes, and in the fields.

17 The Lord will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since Ephraim broke away(A) from Judah—he will bring the king of Assyria.(B)”

18 In that day(C) the Lord will whistle(D) for flies from the Nile delta in Egypt and for bees from the land of Assyria.(E) 19 They will all come and settle in the steep ravines and in the crevices(F) in the rocks, on all the thornbushes(G) and at all the water holes.
