⁹ So justice is far from us,
    and righteousness does not reach us.
We look for light, but all is darkness;^(A)

    feeling our way like people without eyes.
At midday we stumble^(C) as if it were twilight;
    among the strong, we are like the dead.^(D)

¹³ He who forms the mountains,^(A)
    who creates the wind,^(B)
    and who reveals his thoughts^(C) to mankind,
who turns dawn to darkness,
    and treads on the heights of the earth^(D)—
    the Lord God Almighty is his name.^(E)

⁸ He who made the Pleiades and Orion,^(A)
    who turns midnight into dawn^(B)
    and darkens day into night,^(C)
who calls for the waters of the sea
    and pours them out over the face of the land—
