Isaiah 44:9-11
New International Version
9 All who make idols(A) are nothing,
and the things they treasure are worthless.(B)
Those who would speak up for them are blind;(C)
they are ignorant, to their own shame.(D)
10 Who shapes a god and casts an idol,(E)
which can profit nothing?(F)
11 People who do that will be put to shame;(G)
such craftsmen are only human beings.
Let them all come together and take their stand;
they will be brought down to terror and shame.(H)
Isaiah 44:9-11
New King James Version
Idolatry Is Foolishness
9 (A)Those who make an image, all of them are useless,
And their precious things shall not profit;
They are their own witnesses;
(B)They neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed.
10 Who would form a god or mold an image
(C)That profits him nothing?
11 Surely all his companions would be (D)ashamed;
And the workmen, they are mere men.
Let them all be gathered together,
Let them stand up;
Yet they shall fear,
They shall be ashamed together.
Isaiah 44:9-11
English Standard Version
The Folly of Idolatry
9 (A)All who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame. 10 (B)Who fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing? 11 (C)Behold, all his companions shall be put to shame, and the craftsmen are only human. Let them all assemble, let them stand forth. They shall be terrified; they shall be put to shame together.

Jeremiah 10:3-10
New International Version
3 For the practices of the peoples are worthless;
they cut a tree out of the forest,
and a craftsman(A) shapes it with his chisel.(B)
4 They adorn it with silver(C) and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so it will not totter.(D)
5 Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
their idols cannot speak;(E)
they must be carried
because they cannot walk.(F)
Do not fear them;
they can do no harm(G)
nor can they do any good.”(H)
6 No one is like you,(I) Lord;
you are great,(J)
and your name is mighty in power.
7 Who should not fear(K) you,
King of the nations?(L)
This is your due.
Among all the wise leaders of the nations
and in all their kingdoms,
there is no one like you.
8 They are all senseless(M) and foolish;(N)
they are taught by worthless wooden idols.(O)
9 Hammered silver is brought from Tarshish(P)
and gold from Uphaz.
What the craftsman and goldsmith have made(Q)
is then dressed in blue and purple—
all made by skilled workers.
10 But the Lord is the true God;
he is the living God,(R) the eternal King.(S)
When he is angry,(T) the earth trembles;(U)
the nations cannot endure his wrath.(V)
Jeremiah 10:3-10
New King James Version
3 For the customs of the peoples are [a]futile;
For (A)one cuts a tree from the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
4 They decorate it with silver and gold;
They (B)fasten it with nails and hammers
So that it will not topple.
5 They are upright, like a palm tree,
And (C)they cannot speak;
They must be (D)carried,
Because they cannot go by themselves.
Do not be afraid of them,
For (E)they cannot do evil,
Nor can they do any good.”
6 Inasmuch as there is none (F)like You, O Lord
(You are great, and Your name is great in might),
7 (G)Who would not fear You, O King of the nations?
For this is Your rightful due.
For (H)among all the wise men of the nations,
And in all their kingdoms,
There is none like You.
8 But they are altogether (I)dull-hearted and foolish;
A wooden idol is a [b]worthless doctrine.
9 Silver is beaten into plates;
It is brought from Tarshish,
And (J)gold from Uphaz,
The work of the craftsman
And of the hands of the metalsmith;
Blue and purple are their clothing;
They are all (K)the work of skillful men.
10 But the Lord is the true God;
He is (L)the living God and the (M)everlasting King.
At His wrath the earth will tremble,
And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.
