2 (A)When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
(B)when you walk through fire (C)you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
3 For (D)I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.
(E)I give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and (F)Seba in exchange for you.
4 Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honoured, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life.

When you walk through the fire,(C)
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.(D)
3 For I am the Lord your God,(E)
the Holy One(F) of Israel, your Savior;(G)
I give Egypt(H) for your ransom,
Cush[a](I) and Seba(J) in your stead.(K)
4 Since you are precious and honored(L) in my sight,
and because I love(M) you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.
