    Who has called forth the generations from the beginning?^(A)
I, the Lord, am the first,
    and at the last^[a] I am he.

¹⁵ I am the Lord, your Holy One,
    the creator of Israel, your King.

²¹ Come close and declare;
    let them take counsel together:
Who announced this from the beginning,
    declared it from of old?
Was it not I, the Lord,
    besides whom there is no other God?
    There is no just and saving God but me.

³ Things of the past I declared long ago,
    they went forth from my mouth, I announced them;
    then suddenly I took action and they came to be.
