By his power the Lord will judge and purify the nation and wash away the guilt of Jerusalem and the blood that has been shed there. (A)Then over Mount Zion and over all who are gathered there, the Lord will send a cloud in the daytime and smoke and a bright flame at night. God's glory will cover and protect the whole city. His glory will shade the city from the heat of the day and make it a place of safety, sheltered from the rain and storm.

The Lord will wash away the filth(A) of the women of Zion;(B) he will cleanse(C) the bloodstains(D) from Jerusalem by a spirit[a] of judgment(E) and a spirit[b] of fire.(F) Then the Lord will create(G) over all of Mount Zion(H) and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night;(I) over everything the glory[c](J) will be a canopy.(K) It will be a shelter(L) and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge(M) and hiding place from the storm(N) and rain.

When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
