4 The Lord will wash away the disgusting filth[a] of the daughters of Zion and cleanse the blood of Jerusalem from its midst by the Spirit[b] of judgment and by the Spirit of burning. 5 Then over the entire site[c] of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, the Lord will create a cloud of smoke by day and a bright flaming fire by night, so there will be a canopy over all the glory. 6 In the daytime there will be a shelter to provide shade from the heat and to provide refuge and a hiding place from the storm and the rain.

4 The Lord will wash away the filth(A) of the women of Zion;(B) he will cleanse(C) the bloodstains(D) from Jerusalem by a spirit[a] of judgment(E) and a spirit[b] of fire.(F) 5 Then the Lord will create(G) over all of Mount Zion(H) and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night;(I) over everything the glory[c](J) will be a canopy.(K) 6 It will be a shelter(L) and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge(M) and hiding place from the storm(N) and rain.
