36 Then the angel of the Lord set out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians; when morning dawned, they were all dead bodies.(B) 37 Then King Sennacherib of Assyria left, went home, and lived at Nineveh.

35 “I will defend(A) this city and save it,
for my sake(B) and for the sake of David(C) my servant!”
36 Then the angel(D) of the Lord went out and put to death(E) a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian(F) camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies! 37 So Sennacherib(G) king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh(H) and stayed there.
