International Children’s Bible
35 The Lord says, ‘I will defend and save this city.
I will do this for myself and for David, my servant.’”
36 Then the angel of the Lord went out. He killed 185,000 men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up early the next morning, they saw all the dead bodies! 37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria left. He went back to Nineveh and stayed there.

35 “I will defend(A) this city and save it,
for my sake(B) and for the sake of David(C) my servant!”
36 Then the angel(D) of the Lord went out and put to death(E) a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian(F) camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies! 37 So Sennacherib(G) king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh(H) and stayed there.
