35 I will protect this city and save it.
I will do this for myself and for my servant David.”
The Assyrian Army Is Destroyed
36 That night the angel of the Lord went out and killed 185,000 men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up in the morning, they saw all the dead bodies. 37 So King Sennacherib of Assyria went back to Nineveh and stayed there.

New International Version
35 “I will defend(A) this city and save it,
for my sake(B) and for the sake of David(C) my servant!”
36 Then the angel(D) of the Lord went out and put to death(E) a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian(F) camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies! 37 So Sennacherib(G) king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh(H) and stayed there.
