Isaiah 34:7-9
Good News Translation

7 The people will fall like wild oxen and young bulls, and the earth will be red with blood and covered with fat. 8 This is the time when the Lord will rescue Zion and take vengeance on her enemies.

9 The rivers of Edom will turn into tar, and the soil will turn into sulfur. The whole country will burn like tar.

New International Version

7 And the wild oxen(A) will fall with them,
    the bull calves and the great bulls.(B)
Their land will be drenched with blood,(C)
    and the dust will be soaked with fat.

8 For the Lord has a day(D) of vengeance,(E)
    a year of retribution,(F) to uphold Zion’s cause.
9 Edom’s streams will be turned into pitch,
    her dust into burning sulfur;(G)
    her land will become blazing pitch!
