11 Tremble, you women (A)who are at ease,
shudder, you complacent ones;
(B)strip, and make yourselves bare,
(C)and tie sackcloth round your waist.
12 (D)Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields,
for the fruitful vine,
13 (E)for the soil of my people
growing up in thorns and briers,
(F)yes, for all the joyous houses
in the exultant city.

Strip off your fine clothes(C)
and wrap yourselves in rags.(D)

a land overgrown with thorns and briers(G)—
yes, mourn(H) for all houses of merriment
