20 For the (A)ruthless will come to an end and the (B)scorner will be finished,
Indeed (C)all who [a]are intent on doing evil will be cut off;
21 Who [b]cause a person to be indicted by a word,
And (D)ensnare him who adjudicates at the gate,
And [c](E)defraud the one in the right with [d]meaningless arguments.

22 Therefore thus says the Lord, who redeemed (F)Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob:

“Jacob (G)shall not now be ashamed, nor shall his face now turn pale;

    the mockers(C) will disappear,
    and all who have an eye for evil(D) will be cut down—
21 those who with a word make someone out to be guilty,
    who ensnare the defender in court(E)
    and with false testimony(F) deprive the innocent of justice.(G)

22 Therefore this is what the Lord, who redeemed(H) Abraham,(I) says to the descendants of Jacob:

“No longer will Jacob be ashamed;(J)
    no longer will their faces grow pale.(K)
