20 For the tyrant shall be no more,
    the scoffer shall cease to be;
All who are ready for evil shall be cut off,(A)
21     those who condemn with a mere word,
Who ensnare the defender at the gate,
    and leave the just with an empty claim.(B)
22 Therefore thus says the Lord,
    the God of the house of Jacob,
    who redeemed Abraham:[a]
No longer shall Jacob be ashamed,
    no longer shall his face grow pale.(C)
